powerful and very fast search engine.
Lycos allows Boolean AND and OR
and can match up to seven terms which makes it good for synonyms or variant spellings.
Excite features Web and Usenet
searches and includes Web site reviews. Concept-based searches result in high quality
search results.
Infoseek Ultra There are over
50 million full text pages indexed. This engine has automatic name recognition. There is
no need for quotes to recognize capitalized word phrases, and all words are searched.
Plain English queries work and it finds all word variants, e.g. mice will find mouse.
WebCrawler is a great search
engine, but the database is small. It works well for a quick search. Also, there is a good
subject directory.
